Holiday Wishes to Tarboro, NC During the weekend of September 17, 18, 19th Tarboro NC was hit hard and heavy by Hurricane Floyd and the rains and flooding that followed. Tarboro, like Eureka Springs is a small town full of history and rich in charm. One of the oldest incorporated towns in the United States, Tarboro is proud of it's heritage, it's people, and Historic value. Eureka and Tarboro are much the same in many ways. The Eureka Springs Tourist Center, Positive Idea Marketing and the following businesses in Eureka Springs have made this pledge to make this holiday season a bit brighter for the kids of Tarboro whose families lost both personal and business interests in the recent Hurricane and flood. Much of this small community was completely destroyed. Entire sections of town are gone. And gone with it are dreams and hopes. Help us spread a bit of hope this Holiday Season...whether it be Christmas, Kwanza or Hannukah...Let there be peace and joy. From September 23, 1999 to December 12, 1999 on all reservations that are made and stays completed with the following properties, the following gracious innkeepers have agreed to donate $5.00 of your lodging per night to a special fund that has been set up for the purchase of toys, gifts, and clothing for the kids of Tarboro. The Tourist Center and Positive Idea will arrange for transportation and distribution of these wrapped packages in hopes that the kids young and old welcome the new Millennium a bit brighter. Thank You for choosing Eureka Springs as your Fall and Holiday destination. If you can't join us in Eureka, but would like to help buy some toys and clothes you may make a donation in several ways. Please email us or call The Eureka Springs Tourist Center at 501-253-0505 and we'll send or tell you various options.
